Hmm, on second thought, maybe the WWE doesn't want to go that route. Lately, the WWE has sucked. But this Sunday, we can put all of that behind us. It's a new day. And if you believe that, I've got some TNA stock I'd like to sell ya.
Looks like Orton's going for a modified People's Eyebrow there.
As of right now, there are only 5 matches scheduled on WWE.com. Which makes me think that they're either going to add a few on Smackdown this Thursday (hopefully something involving MVP and/or Matt Hardy), or the Cena/Orton match is going to be pretty long and drawn out. And will hopefully end with Cena dead, or at least belt-less. Also, Jericho might make an appearance. Although I wish they'd wait until Monday to trot him out.
Anyways, here's what I think...
Candice Michelle vs Beth Phoenix
Phoenix should win this match. Which makes me somehow doubt that she will, in the back of my mind. But I'll still go with here. Either way, probably not going to be a great match.
Rey Mysterio vs Finley -
Boy, this one's sure been built up a lot, hasn't it? Finley's attacked Mysterio twice with his shillelagh thing-a-muh-bobber without explanation. Bam! Instant feud! At least JBL talked to Mysterio a few times. I guess Finley is his surrogate now. This is what you get when you have PPVs every 3-4 weeks. But anyways, the actual match might be interesting. Two different fighting styles. My guess is Mysterio will win, but I wouldn't be surprised to see JBL interfere somehow. I really wish JBL would wrestle again. Anything to get him away from the broadcasting gig he has. ;)
Triple H vs Umaga -
Should be a good match. Oh wait, never mind. Must have been thinking of another match. Oh wait, never mind. They're isn't a good match at this PPV. I really don't like Umaga at all. I don't like his wrestling style or his gimmick. He's sorta like Kamala on crack, and in a bad mood. I'll go with Triple H here. Because he's Triple H. And he's not going to lose to Umaga. Pretty simple, right?
Batista vs Khali - in a Punjabi Prison of Blood Nightmare Death Match!!! Or Something!!! - World Heavyweight Title -
You know, as much as I knock the intelligence of the WWE writing team (they are, after all, a crack staff. meaning: they're on crack), I don't think they're quite dumb enough to give Khali the belt again. Batista will win somehow. He'll put bamboo sticks under Khali's fingernails or something, anything he's got to do. But he should win. He's probably the biggest thing on Smackdown right now. And I like him, so that's that.
Orton vs Cena - in a Last Man Standing Match - WWE Title -
This one's tricky. Cena should win, being as this isn't a major PPV (to say the least), and it would be kind of strange to have him drop the belt here, if he didn't at Summerslam. Summerslam would have been the time do it. The crowd, to a large degree, was behind Orton. But the WWE decided a BS finish, where Cena just pulls an FU out of nowhere to win it, was the way to go there. I want to believe that Orton will get the belt, but I can't.
